Perhaps a PLCE Web-Tex Rucksack, I have the 3/4 size and it is perfect.

I bought one of these a while back

I also have a couple of Karrimor Rucksacks which weren't cheap but they are what I call Mountaineering Bags with padded hipbelts and stuff .
But I prefer this one it gets thrown all over the place and seems more than up to the abuse it gets.
And it was cheap

I have a 55 litre McKinley rucksack. :-) Very nice, but always remember to try the sack! And even if the shop assistant has used ages of time on you, then don't be tempted to buy it!
To Ed my kit is fairly large, as i have bivy bags, winter sleeping bags and all the other kit, I only get 7.50 a week from my paper round so nothing to expensive, maybe around 50 or 60 pounds. If you know of any online shops that sell them please tell me. I'm a new member so i would like to know what buddies are. Cheers, Jack

I would be inclined to agree with young bushman.... I got the full size webtex one and it happily holds all my climbing gear, a sleeping bag, change of clothes, tarp and other stuff. It's not as comfy as my alpine sack but comfy enough.
