Seem a tad expensive to me.
Swedish Army types are 9mm thick and cost as little as £3 each. from here

there's someone selling unhandled ones on ebay for a fiver I'd go for one of those as he's local. thats how they used to be issued as you can use both sides of the rod :)
easier to lose though :(

I think that is a bit pricey im sure you could get better deals in the uk
Jal on the BB site had some un-handled one's(i got 2) found them to be great sparkers, they were 10mm thick x 110mm long, and a .45 case would make a good handle.

I like that bunker steel.
Im picturing it with a nice horn handle and its own custom belt pouch, im sure i could live with the cost.
Dont think id ever need buy another.
looks thicker than half inch tho

hmmm... didn't see that one spamel... might be something to:
1. tie on a keychain for someone with really big hands
2. use as a self defense weapon
3. jump start the inner core of your homemade plutonium reactor
4. get if you are expecting the next three generations to start fires with it
5. you want to practice getting sparks with your machete

if your looking for a larger Firesteel try using a Ultimate Survival - Strike Force - Fire Starter,I brought a couple of these and took the Flint Bar out and fitted a Antler handle on them.Looks great and lasts for ages.
Here in Oz we get the "light my fire brand" and the "Magfire" they seem to be both the same but they last for ages and are well priced.
