I am wondering if there are any easily accessable wild plants in Ontario area, for allergies. Its the springtime runny nose, irritated eyes kind of allergy. Any help? thanks!

The old trick over here is to sniff ragweed as soon as it flowers, it worked for me, I now don't get hay fever at all. Another method is to eat honey from bees that collect in the local area, your body then learns that the pollen isn't evil.

local honey is a good cure/reducer of hay fever - have to start taking a tea spoon per day in Feb though

I've often heard the argument that local honey is good for hay fever but I'm not sure it makes scientific sense.

Hay fever is caused by the pollen of wind-pollinated plants such as grasses and some trees. The pollen is very small and light so that it stays airborne.

Insect pollinated plants have big clumpy sticky pollen grains that do not cause hay fever.

I have seen a 'natural' hay fever treatment that consists of a sticky gel that you put around the nostrils to trap the pollen grains. I guess it might help a bit, though vaseline would probably have a similar effect.
