Do any of you guys or girls know where I can get one?. Sounds contradictory posting a link but BCB is a trade only supplier
Guess I could try to make one...

Quite a few places on the net will order BCB stuff in for you. I've used www.adventurekit.co.uk a couple of times and found them very good (the got me the BCB mini mess tin). Penrith survival are also prepared to order stuff in. You can also email BCB directly and ask about local stockists.

You aint on your own,ive been waitin and lookin for one of these for ages.

Keep your eye on the woodlore site :mischief:
Ask no questions tell no lies
Nigel,
I have been awaiting for these to come in for five months - BCB have a quality issue with them and their supplier has delayed arrival for that long sorting them out - earliest estimates I can get from BCB is some time mid-sept and I would guess this applies to all other outlets as their all supplied by BCB.
GUESS ITS A CASE OF DONT HOLD YOUR BREATH.

Cheers Gary,
Make sure you let me know when you have them and they`ll be an order in it for you :biggthump
Cheers Nigel, will do, but it is turning into a comedy of errors - I just hope these stoves are worth it in the long run!
I got mine last week (and it seems good kit to me :-) ) from:
Home Guard (Field Supplies)
2b Cottingham Way Ind. Estate
(Behind the Fire Station)
Thrapston
Northants
Tel: 01832 732492
They are just 2 minutes from the A14/A45 junction and I've found them excellent for good quality Army surplus and general military-orientated outdoor kit at good prices. I think they do mail order.

I've just found this on the BCB site:
http://www.bcbin.com/store/images_04/sf_home.jpg
guess who this is :naughty:
Now where do we get the MP5s from??? :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:
Should have said it cost me £5-50.
Ted W
Some ugly bloke!
Did you Tedw maybe they have finally arrived - BCB will likely have a back log of orders to clear so fingers crossed for me too!
Now where do we get the MP5s from??? :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:
It looks like the MP5 SD5, the question is, is it made by Marui?????
RE-COOKERS - it appears fifty samples were sent out to outlets with them in their catalogues as for the rest ??????????? wait wait and more wait I'm afraid.
Interesting, if BCB had quality issues with these cooker sets and returned them or refused the main item as you suggest Gary then surely the samples they sent out would still have the same quality issues?
I want one too :o): LOL
Last month I mailed BCB about this cooking unit about availability overhere in Holland. The guy who gave me a respons told me the best place to obtain them is via Cadet direct (http://www.cadetdirect.com) - 'cause BCB hasn't got any distrubutors or retail outlets in Holland.
And as Paganwolf mentioned earlier: keep an eye on the Woodlore site :mischief: - Dude, who gave you that info :o): :rolmao: :biggthump LOL

Just a little correction: it's an MP5-SD... :biggthump
BCB has no distrubutors or retail outlets in holand ? i have bought many things from BCB in dutch store's, so that sounds a bit weird to me !
maybe you should look wheather gellert sells them, gellert sells a lot of things with just a gellert sticker sticked over the BCB logo.

I didn't want to let on ... in case someone asks to borrow mine! :naughty: :rolmao:

Found it quite odd myself ... Bought some stuff by BCB at Dump 2000, and if I'm correct Bever should have some nice little thingies too ...
Doesn't matter if it's available or not in Holland: will order it online anyway :o):

Thanks for the tip mate!!! :biggthump
Where can I find Gellert? Is it in Delft?
Always having a good time when I visite outdoorshops :naughty:
no, gellert is a brand name sold everywhere ! primairly in smaller or surplus kind of store's.
Delft is a bad place to buy outdoor stuff, only one store: Crew.
The hague has a nice sellection, Bever sport and 2 outlet bevers ( ! ), track & trail, adventure store ( same a the crew in delft and rotterdam ) and perry sometimes has good thing for a good price. Also 2 surplus store's in the centre of the hague.

:o): :super: :o): :super: :o): :super:
just bought my crusader cup cooker/stand from "home guard"(thrapston), sorry guys i bought the last one in the shop! :nana:
i've had time to look at it and it really is top quality, and the teflon finish is perfect! i'm looking forward to christening it! :cup: :thumbs_up
second opinion, it doers indeed fit well in the PlCE waterbottle pouch with the 58 plastic mug ontop aswell!
i already can see it has the potential to rattle a little, so a big rubber band is round it and the crusader cup to stop movement.
i'll tell you how i get on with it.......

I ordered one of these cooking units from Cadet Direct. I ,ve had it about 6 weeks now and very good it is too
Thanks Bushblade :oT:
whats the world coming to when a man can't walk around in fire retardent underware with out being photographed
your right though the man behind the mask is me
the crusader cooking unit is quite good, if you have any questions about it let me know
Here's a question, when will it be issued to squaddies
Also how does it fit in a 95 pouch ? is it cooker - bottle - cup ?
I suppose the army will get it once the quality issues are resolved.
Carriage - the stove fits on the bottom of the mug and the whole thing slides inside the waterbottle pouch together.
will it take a trangia stove, or just the gell/esbit capsules?
Goodbye messtins and hexy !
The fuel tank on the stove is a small cup which will take approx 14ml of gel fuel or a hexi block - ie enough to boil a brew. (I think it is 14 ml but dont quote me)
Martyn, I am sure you could covert it to burn on a trangia of anything else - we all now how you like to tinker! :nana:

Has there been a firm decision to adopt the unit by MOD?
Again dont quote me but that is what I have heard - maybe Stuart could shed more light on this one.
sounds like a trangia would be too tall for it. Not enough clearance - not much you can do about that.
On the subject of tinkering Gary, wait till you see my latest project - based around a 12cm zebra billy - you'll love it. ;)
Both me, and Nasa, await its unvieling with baited breath mate! :You_Rock_

Well I doubt NASA will be impressed, though I did think of trying a portable acetylene burner which would put the afterburners of a Saturn V to shame, but the tanks just added too much weight. Though I would imagine escape velocity entirely possible - does bangers a treat too. :naughty:
No, I'm afraid this is decidely low-tech, which is why I think you might like it better than NASA.
A little more drilling and a lick of paint and she should be done. :D
Excellent, look forward to seeing her then! You know me i like to K.I.S.S :naughty:
...portable acetylene burner...but the tanks just added too much weight.
Hmm. Calcium carbide instead?

i tried it out last night,
i filled the little cup area with meths and it certainly boiled the water.
hot enough for a drink but not for food i reckon. with gel or hexi blocks you can add more to increase the temp!
another use, put a tea light candle in you could warm food (without cooking), or prehaps as a candle holder for shelter? you could line it with foil to reflect the light.
with in minutes of buying it my son wanted to see it, and then proceeded to use it as a crisp/sandwich holder in the car! :o):
thing to remember is that even though it has a handle, when in use the whole thing gets hot and cannot be handled for a while.
this could be an issue if given to soldiers as with the old hexi there was an option to just chuck it away in close contact with enemy. i fear the Sgt. won't want you throw this cooker away! :drillserg :errrr:
i love it! :super:
i now need to get the matching non stick cup! :yup:
I dont know when it will be issued if at all this kind of thing takes for ever with the MOD
yes the cooker, metal mug and canteen all fit together inside the pouch
Here's a question, when will it be issued to squaddies
Also how does it fit in a 95 pouch ? is it cooker - bottle - cup ?

I know I'm a bit late on this thread - but can the teflon crusader mugs safely be used on/in a campfire like you can with the old steel ones ?
Cheers...
I used it extensively at the weekend. I found that with two sachets of greenheat there was enough heat over a long enough time to heat up 2 bag meals (Chicken and mushroom pasta, and treacle pudding - my faves) simultaniously. whilst the water never quite came to the boil, it was hot enough to make a brew with, to go with the meal.
However, the handle/grate on my cooker is a little wonky, and isn't quite flat, so the filled mug slopes noticebly. If it wasn't on a flat surface I'd be a little worried about stability.

what about filing/hacksawing down the slot that's too high, should even it out..

Yep ... same problem on mine ... but nothing a little bending can't fix!
Interesting - I'll have to dig mine out now and try it.

i've used mine stuffed in the embers of fires, it does obviously singe the outside a little nothing worth worrying about though, inside stays perfect which is the bit your interested in
