What is the purpose of the small clips next to the o-rings on the fly sheet ?

I have an Expedition but I expect they`re on other models too ??

The hammock/mossie net is attached to the ridge line further down on the HHs so it must be for something else. Maybe it`s just to hand stuff off.

I think they are to hang the water catchment bottles from. Basically, they are like wide-mouthed bottles you hang from the clip's. When it rains, the water is channeled down to the point where they clip on. The more it rains, the heavier they get and the more they pull down the fly to protect you. Then, in the morning, you empty them into your billy and have a brew!

looking at the ones on my hex fly, they are a bit flimsy - I wouldn't want to hang any sort of weight off them...

I`ve seen those collectors Jed but I think they go on the other corners where the guy lines are.

I cut this from the set up page of the Hennesy site, hope it helps:
Canopy Set Up
Align asymmetrical fly to match hammock shape. Clip the plastic ?0? rings at each end of the canopy to the stronger plastic hooks of the sliding knot tensioner tied to the main support ropes, being sure to leave this adjustment untensioned until last. Next, clip the lighter plastic hook attached to each end of the canopy onto the main support rope. Center canopy widthwise by attaching side adjustment cords equally tight to nearby tree branches or ground anchors at whatever angle seems right for the conditions. Lastly, push each sliding knot tensioner along the main support ropes until the canopy is centered lengthwise and fairly tight. In wet, windy conditions, attach a weight or elastic to side corners of fly to maintain tension.

Hi Shewie
The clips on the ridge line help hold the fly in place, but I think you may mean the clips at
sides of the fly, you clip these onto the bunges that pull the main hammock out sideways.
If the weather is bad this helps rain run off quicker, and if it is windy by clipping it onto the bungee's it helps keep the fly taught.
Try it.

Cheers for that Alan, I must have missed it when I was looking on the website.

So they just clip over the main ridge line then, I would have thought the o-rings attached to the prusicks would have been sufficient.

I`ll have a play next time I take it out.
