Axe Maintenance

Ok so I've got an axe recently and I'am wondering what else I need to get to maintain it? Should I get the file and stone? What about the possibiliity of Japanese water stones or a DC4 which I use to maintain my knife?

Just read it......its the file and stone so and I second that motion to make it sticky. Very informative!
