While being being under house arrest by my girlfriend I found myself watching some Ray Mears' DVDs... and it seems to me that everywhere he goes, there is beer involved.
Surely there must be some funny brew related stories floating around??

Mmmm beer.
I was in spain a couple of years ago and we were on a free campsite on the north coast. We were about to go to bed when some locals invited us to join them. They were 'cooking' a big bowl of alcohol, (it felt like a campfire sitting around it) and it was distilled from the left overs of the grapes when they had made wine. Anyway the stuff was so lethal they had to burn the alcohol off for half an hour and add coffee and lemons along with some secret ingredients after which we all sampled this fire water which turned out to be fantastic. After several glasses I could understand all their spanish and even make myself understood well enough (funny how booze does that).
The main reason we got the invite was that they had seen me cooking eairlier while my wife was reading a book and neither the women nor the men could believe this wasn't a joke. Also the petrol stove we had caused much interest as they all used calor gas. Funny how these things go.
