Having just hosted a weekend party skinning a deer.

I am now looking into obtaining a wild boar to be prepared at my summer meet.

Do any of the good people on here know of a supplier of Boar with the fur on?

I know of three wild boar suppliers in Scotland, and I know at least one supplies for spit roasting but no idea if they supply in the skin. I could ask? Scottish Wild Boar and Highland Wild Boar are both in the Inverness area and Hilton is in Perthshire.
They're all Highland region though so heaven knows what delivery would be.

The skin stinks :( really musky, we can't get rid of the smell from the tanned one I use for the brons/iron age stuff.

Somewhere I tripped across a list of British suppliers. I'll have a looksee :)

cheers,
M

If the boar is raised on a farm, is it really a wild boar? Shouldn't it be called a tamed boar?

;)

I have found a supplier. Although at £5.20 a kg I will have to get plenty of people attending to make it worth the cost. Average Boar is 60kg with fur on.

if your buying a whole boar it shouldnt be as expensive as previously stated.find a game dealer from the forest of dean or any other area where boar colonies have set up.DEFRA may supply info on wild populations of escapees.
