Hi all, i,ve just purchased this book today Outdoor survival skills by Larry Dean Olsen, its in its sixth edition. I,ve just read the first few chapters and i,m pleased i bought it,its making for some good reading already.

The guy looks as though he was the Ray Mears of the 60s learning the skills of native Americans,as i say a good read so far.

Great book.
Got to watch out for missing pages though. A copy I saw had about 20 pages missing, not torn out, they had been missed out when the book was bound. Easy enough to spot though, the page numbers gave it away.

Thanks for the heads up on the book. I'll have to order one up. I have "Survival skills of the North American Indians", by Peter Goodchild. It's an ok read. Goes into many of the plants used for food and medicines as well as many of the skills used.
