Hi there, firstly, not sure if this really falls into bushcraft (though it could help in climbing trees/ getting ropes into trees) so I understand if this gets deleted.
It's one of these (http://www.edirectory.co.uk/pf/880/mia/d/grappling+hook/pid/5199938) without the rope (the rope is terrible for climbing but I use it a lot for attaching hoops to my tools for hanging). The rope-eye is about 1 and a quarter centimetre wide.
Mine is ex-military, scratched but very sturdy.
The hook is made of four parts (including the bolt), two C-shaped hook pieces, the shaft that holds the C pieces at one end and the rope at the other, and the bolt that fastens it all together.
A wrench is needed to fasten and unfasten the bolt in the top.
What I'd like in return (preferably) is some leather that's good for honing knives on, and/or some native green wood for spoon-making.
Thanks,
Mike
