Didn't quite know what to post as the title, but hopefully it will attract the people that can help! I have an M39 rucksack, metal frame and leather straps on a canvas bag, you can pick them up really cheap and it's a good bag.

But, I have seen a bag with pouches on the outside that looks exactly like it. I think I may have mentioned this before, but I can't remember, anyway it is apparently the M35 backpack. Can anybody shed any light on this, i have found one reference on an american site showing a pretty rubbish picture so cannot decide if it is the correct bag or not.

Ryggsäck m/35 got two external pockets at the sides and an internal pocket in the rucksack flap.
Ryggsäck m/39 is basically the same as the m/35, but with no internal or external pockets.

Couple of pictures on..

That's the one! Definitely! Thanks for your help Jared! Clemens Forrell uses one in the film As far as my feet can carry me, which is unfortunately not available to purchase here in UK. I got it from an oriental eBayer ages back and it is an excellent film. As far as I can see the frame and strap are the same as the M39.

Next question then, where do I get one?

No idea :/

Finding m39s are no trouble.. from places like http://www.surplus.se/ , but 35s seem extremely rare.

Damn! I really want one now! Where was that dummy with the pack on? Do you think anybody would miss it?

I've done a bit of asking about, but with british surplus stores that sell foreign army equipment. I reckon I'm on to a loser there though, so I might phone some swedish companies on Monday and see if they can help at all.

I have the pieces of one that I took apart to make a pattern for a leather pack. Any help?

Is this an alternative?

I believe that is the Norwegian pack, not looked in to that yet, but may come back to it of the search turns out fruitless.

Gary, where did you get yours from?

Got it in a junk shop, in poor repair which is why it ended up in pieces.

It was probably worth a small fortune to the right person!

Never saw the m35. How do you find stuff like that?

The only reason I knew about it was because I saw it on a film. I saw the similarities and did a bit of digging, and i think I came across the mentioning of a '35 pattern sack, which Jared confirmed and supplied a link to the pictures. As for where to get one, I wish I knew!

Do you have any surplus stores that you could ask about in please?

I could have a look around, but I think you'd be better off with an archaeologist than a surplus store.. ;)
