I have just bought a HH Exped Asym.

I was messing about today in the woods and set up the hammock using a poncho liner as an under blanket. I agree that it makes a difference to the warmth of the hammock but how do you fix it up at the foot end so that you can still get in the hammock from underneath?

Simon,
I have no experience of Hennesys but I'm guessing that you cant get in from underneath with the liner in place. My guess is that you'll have to get into the hammock with the liner half-installed and then be able to pull the foot end into place from inside it. I tried a similar method of pulling my Ogripod into place after getting into a normal hammock - have a search for the orignal thread using the "Ogripod" marker and look through the photos for some ideas.

The photos are not ver clear but if you run a cord from the corner of the liner through the loop at the foot of the hammock and up to somewhere you can reach and secure from inside, it might work!

My underblanket is fixed at either end with shockcord and you just push it aside to sit in the hammock and get in. Once you're in the hammock the underblanket goes back into position.

Thanks guys. I am looking at doing a mod to a poncho liner and making it a hybrid 1/2 pod (head end) with the other end shock corded!

I take some pictures once I have it squared away!
