Hi all, great site this and have been reading lots and getting great tips. I've been into camping and the outdoors since a kid but having been working my butt off for so many years I've rekindled my love of the outdoors. I spend a lot of time up in Skye and North-West Scotland. Have lots of kit but now getting a bit aware of looking like a DPM monster lol maybe OG is more acceptable?
Would be great to make some friends on here to share trips with. You can never stop learning and there's always somebody who has a better way of going about things :-)
Welcome Matt!
Wear whatever's comfortable - when they invent quick drying jeans I'll be wearing those
instead :)
Looking at some of the photos I've seen of meets (small, local get togethers) and moots
(larger events) it does seem that self-coloured outfits are popular, though I suppose that's
just as uniform-y as anything else! But people wear all sorts, honest. I live in my black
jumpers and I'm not buying any in outdoors tones :D
Have you found the articles section as well as the main forums, there are tutorials and
reviews in there too, plus the blogs are worth looking at as well because people will post
updates on projects they're doing.
Hope you have lots of fun here,
Jo

Hello Matt,
A big welcome to you, I'm also from Gloucestershire.
Don't be afraid to ask questions, but remember to use the search function first.

Welcome to the forums.
I hate DPM on myself, but it's so cheap it's rude not to all too often.
I think an M4/M5 junction area meetup could be on the cards.
Hi Matt - welcome to the site

Just wanna say thanks to everybody on here for the warm welcome, it feels like a very friendly forum with lots of great people here. I'm sure like many others I find myself being in the situation of none of my friends liking bushcraft, they all seem townies big style :D . Look forward to meeting at some point and learning from those people who have impressive bushcraft skills :) I'm afraid I can't offer that much apart from if anybody has any pc hardware probs or satellite related probs lol :D
Hi Mattk,
Just joined this site myself. It's good to see some more people from Gloucestershire getting involved perhaps we could all meet up at some point.
