Eleventh Hammock Group Buy

After some pressure :rolleyes: I am starting the eleventh Hammock Group Buy

The reserve list for these has now grown to the level where another buy has become almost inevitable. The information is the same as the first post in this thread

or a number of others, although frankly if you do not yet know about the group buy hammocks you really have not being paying attention.

The price has gone up very slightly and should be about £19.50 including UK postage and PayPal fees. Postage to Europe will probably be about another £1.50 per hammock.

I am not placing the order yet but will do so when we get to about 40 reserved between here and SotP.

Those who have expressed an interest on the old thread MUST post their interest here as well to keep all the information in the same place.

I fully appreciate that this is your group buy and you are free to run it as you wish.

But seeing as there is a limited number you are ordering perhaps in future buys you might be so good as to limit the number one person can request, because 1 person asking for almost half the available products (Again), to resell to other people that aren't even members on the forum is a little unfair on the members who were just a little late to the thread.

Not sure where the "again" slipped in there as the last time the person you are referring to bought 2. I do not know if he is selling these on or giving them away any more than I know whether you were going to give one to your brother (a non member?) or sell him it.

Also if they had not requested 20 we might not have had this group buy at the ordering stage yet. It was their order for 20 that prompted this thread from the people asking on the last group buy thread. And even though he posted on the old thread that he wanted 20 it was possible that there would be less than 20 available when he found this thread. That would have seemed unfair but it is the way it is.

And frankly the people being a little late to this thread does not apply. These group buys have been running for years now. How late are we talking? Given that I run these group buys every few months when there is enough interest I struggle to accept the accusation that I am not giving everyone a chance to get a hammock.

and by "late to the tread" - I meant exactly that...late to see this particular thread. Not the previous 10. e.g. They go away for a few days and come back to see a GB has been and gone.

No worries. It can be frustrating, I know. Previous buys have been known to sell out in less than 24 hours. But like buses there will usually be another along in a little while.

Not for sleeping, only for a brew up. Because, unfortunately, the boust of rheumatic arthritis is not gone yet and the humidity is very high again.

Absolutely excellent hammock. Although I didn't rig it at last weekends meet I did when I snook off to play at our local park yesterday. The only viable out of sight place that I could find was at the top of a slope (which isn''t apparent in the pic) and I found out the hard way that I should listen to myself when I doubt the quality of a splice on a rope :o . My second attempt at rigging worked and I could have swung for hours!

The pic below is of the base of the slope; which I now know is actually a boggy mud filled ditch - Oh the joy of finding that out :yikes: :o :lmao: . You can only just see where my feet went in :D (center middle and center bottom) Still it could have been head first instead :eek:

There is no reserve list as such but by posting here you are at least on the contact list if all this batch are not claimed. I still have 5 to be paid for and claimed.I sent a PM to the people concerned last week and will give it another week before I start to release these.

5 of the hammocks have still to be claimed. I have sent a couple of PMs (one last Friday and one the Friday before) but had no answer. Two of the members have not really been online since the hammocks arrived so they may just be away, whilst the other has been online most days I have looked. Strange.

Either way it is not a problem as I have a fairly long list both on here and SotP of those wanting one after the batch were reserved. I'll probably contact those people on Friday although I think most of them are on SotP.
