Osage Orange

Hello everybody.. I've been away from the site for a while owing to illness but I'm back now.

I have just found a place where bow builders can get some Osage Orange. I purchased 2 pieces to build a type of Selfbow. The wood is tough stuff to work with but it is increadibly strong stuff.

The chap lives in Hungary who produces bows at really reasonable prices. He also produces kits for making bows. .

Nice find. I like osage, I think it's probably my fav bow wood. Are the staves reduced to heartwood or are they pristine with the bark on?

Bowstaves are sold with the bark already removed and smaller pieces of osage are prepared ready for joining together.
