Hi...
Dunno if this can be any help, cause the store's in Denmark, but they have a 6,6 m. white para going for 95 euro. The chute is without lines. http://www.417.dk/shop/default.asp?SetLng=3
Just hit parachute in the search field and then product no. 2 i think. They ship to foreign countries too.
Soldier of Fortune do them but they are a little expensive at about £70. They have them mail order or from their chester branch
Richie
Anchor supplies in Nottingham also do them, dont know if they have any in stock atm give em a call. Unless you manage to find an old silk chute you'll probably have trouble dying them.
Can we ask what you want it for? Half ounce coated ripstop nylon an polyester can be had for quite resonable prices from kite material suppliers, plenty of colours but usually very bright, can sometimes get seconds for £1.50/m if you dont need the technical U/L stuff. If you need it to be breathable look for balloon fabric.

I've never used them mail order, but I've been there and I'd reccomend them.... very knowledgeable staff and a good range of stock. If they havn't got them in they'll be able to tell you when they will be or can get one for you.

JasonJust a shelter for the garden (tired of the rain putting my fires out!) Would prefer drab or green as it's less conspicuous...
I'll give Anchor a call. Cheers! :biggthump
Don't go for a cargo one, they're huge. I swapped mine for something smaller

But when it snows :chill:
Kath,
If you're still looking for a green chute my local surplus store does them - about £25-30 I think. I seem to think they may be cargo chutes with no cord attached. Let me know and I'll try and pop down to get one, not sure what the postage would be.
Duncs
Thanks but I'm not looking now. Actually it was Tony who found me a chute (I really must go pick it up sometime too!) :biggthump
I've got 3 going spare - still as received from RAF stock. (Officially scrapped so not suitable as parachutes....!!! :yikes: )
They are Dark green, with 2 vents. About 25ft accross, and all rigging lines have been removed up to the last 6-8 inches.
They owe me about £20 each, plus postage at cost, or you can pick them up from Nottingham / Derby area.
Cheers
Peter
PS - Although not officially waterproof, we have used them successfully as a rain shelter for about 18-24 people.

I restarted this thread before the Great Crash, and I was after a canopy for around £30. I seem to remember that MBM was also after one, along with a few others. Has anyone got any idea where I can get hold of an olive green canopy?
Cheers

I'm going to try and get hold of a few tomorrow, they're going to be about £35 if anyone's interested :)
Tony what size do these come in at? Is it likely that I will be able to get hold of a large white one? Big project in the offing and we need shelter for 7 folk working with the public making hurdle type panels; a kit roundhouse really that needs a roof. I've got a budget available for materials but I'd like to stretch it as much as possible.
Cheers,
Toddy
Sorry, I didn't get the chance to see if they had any, there's a chance that I could get some to the bcuk meet up next month.
Sorry, no big white ones :( they would probably be the French ones, they're a good size but I doubt that you'd get seven hurdles being made under them....I'll keep you guys informed as to when I get some, I'll probably try and get 4 or so.
I bought one the other day but I'm probably going to send it back, its got a couple of big ventilation panels in there which I don't really want and its turquoise and not olive, so a bit bright for my liking.
i am looking for a couple of cheap shutes. if anyone knows of any could they please pm me. They need to be green though
surplus and adventure have them in stock for around £50 if your willing to risk their crappy service record! at least they couldnt send the wrong size parachute.. could they?
As I said before, I cen get them for £35, but it won't be as quick as getting them yourself.

Any idea when Tony? I'm still looking for one at the mo
Tone, if you can get one by Reading I'll have one please, I'm going to send this one back later.
That's the plan, there's people coming to the May meet up near Reading that can bring some with them. So, end of May. I'll try and get a good number of them. ;)

Definately put me down for one at the end of May then, if I can't get to the meet myself
Tony if you can get me 1 green for Reading that would be great. :D
if a lot of people want one why dont you guys look at getting a bunch direct from the military?
Good idea, I'll have a word with some contacts :D

Tony I would be interested in a green one too for that sort of price. Wont be able to make it to the May meeting from here :( but I will sort postage either here or to a UK address if that's OK. I am over in June.

Tony,
What's the latest on these? I've only just returned to the forum since it went off in March, but I see there's been some indication that you might be able to get more parachutes around the end of May? I'd be interested in a couple if you can - I'm sure I can arrange some kind of meetup for exchange of 'chute / cash to save on postage... :)
