You could always try the 'Deployment Bag' that the forces get issued. It's black, large capacity and the straps enable you to put it on like a bergan for short hauls. Don't get this confused with the 'all arms bergan'. They are available on e-bay for a very reasonable price.

As you can see, the prices vary, but at that price you could get a couple. If you need more capacity, there is always, DZ bags

Check the sleeping bags on www.cabelas.com
They stock the biggest sleeping bags I have ever seen, not saying that some yanks age big. but this is where the biggest would shop!
I do a lot of shopping with Cabelas and they are great to deal with, I have never had to wait more than a week for delivery.
:) :) :)
I need to get it by next Friday.May have to change tack I reckon. How about a Snugpack bag and expander pannel add on/zip in thingy??? Are they much roomier with one of those added??? Anyone???

Sorry buddy, should have read that you wanted a SLEEPING Bag, DOH!:o
I find Snugpak sleeping bags a little constricting and when i used the expanda panel, i found that it was too loose around the top of my body and still as tight around the lower leg, making me feel trapped! I'm 5'7" tall with a 44" chest so if you are different dimensions maybe you would get on with one.
Personally, i swear by the Nanok bag's. I've got the -10 and you used to be able to get them for £40 not so long ago, now i cannot find them for that price anywhere! (Should have bought two!)
Why is comfort such a low priority when it comes to sleeping bags??? I mean isent being comfortable number one when it comes to sleeping???
Nanok. They do a wide one for armed forces.
I've got the -10'C bag and it's excellent. It's got zips on both sides so easy to get in and out of and a removable 'foot bucket' in the bottom in case you want to keep your boots on or need to carry water!!
The Nanok Endurance is the biggest they do (I asked!). 0'C down to -25'C depending what you want.

here's a couple of places you can get them...

The close fit is meant to promote warmth. The idea being that if there is little gap between you and the bag, there is less air to keep warm, therefore it is more efficent. However, my personal experience is that close fitting bags make me feel restricted and i sleep hot as well which does not help. I know a lot of people like the Snugpak bag's but i'm not a fan. Anyway, they tend to pack up small and light which you don't need, so i'd look around. Some bargains around, try Ajungilak bag's, they are good and reasonably priced, whats your budget?
Hi Clem,
Check the Magnum sizes:

I'm 6'3" and very well built, I just about fit into a nanok -0 if I have to carry my bag, but for comfort it has to be a big rectangular bag, I have one of these:
http://www.oswaldbailey.co.uk/eshop.asp?wci=product&wce=52403102
Campus Adventure 300 XL
(actually that looks like a newer version of what I got 2 years ago)
more room than I know what to do with, I love it!
you may want to find the manufacturer's site to check the specs cos oswald bailey have conflicting info there - title says 2 season, but on the right and in the description it says 3. It's a fairly thick bag, so I am fairly sure its 3, I've used it at 0C and wasnt even vaguely cold, but then I sleep very hot.
hope you find something in time
My lad is a tall guy 6'3 and a good weight, he uses one of these

Very warm, will handle any weather the UK will offer, well cut, plenty of room at the top and bottom too:)

I believe expander panels are available if you need them. My brother is a tad rotund and he fitted inside one. I have a few so think on it and I'm sure I'll still have one around. I'll let you know next time I put them on eBay incase you get a bargain.. ;)
