Has anyone got or used the Swedish army issue gor-tex bivi bag, its construction baffles me can anyone enlighten me on what the large handle things underneath for and why the double studs:puppy_dog
If it's anything like why they have a big strong grab handle on the shoulder area of a lot of military webbing and combat vests you might not want to know.

Good for hauling bodies around :( dead ones at that. they use them as impromtue body bags in the field. I might be wrong but that's what i was told by a Swedish soldier :o
I know of a guy who uses an actual body bag as his waterproof bivi. He packs that and a wool blanket. Nestled in a deep bed of pine needles, he is comfy and warm (and dry).
