Yep, proper seven strand 550 comes in black (as well as most of the other colours). Got a big hank right beside me

yes it does exist as i have some.whether it was ever used on parachutes is another matter,but it has the inner strands the same as the green cord. cheers wokka.

Nah I've only got a biggish hank left. You can buy it over in the US and have it shipped though - the dollars weak and its light so it doesn't cost much. Andrew at Outdoorcode gets some from time to time IIRC
