Thanks, Ed, Andy and Bothyman, but it isn't any of those :(
There was mention of "Camp dog" and "no, not Julian Clarey's poodle".
Several breeds were mentioned, including the Akita and the Lurcher.
I tried searching with several different terms, but could find nothing about the Akita (sp?) anywhere on the forum...
I had a couple of interesting pictures of "bush dogs" being taken for walkies.

You are absolutely right, Wayne. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Its here (http://www.britishblades.com/forums/showthread.php?t=946&page=1&pp=20) .
What with BCUK falling over far too often, and BB standing in for it, and now that Tone's switched to vBulletin, so the two sites are even more similar, I had "lost the thread", so to speak....
