View Full Version : Bike written off !!
Dunno if I mentioned it but a taxi wiped me out 2 months back and the engineers have written my bike off.
It was one of these....http://www.hullygully.com/used/ExecutiveDriven/Vstar1100-custom-purple-lar_2310.jpg
Yammy Vstar1100, they're gonna pay me out £4850 for it (it's worth about £5500 but you only get "the book price" Worth remembering next time...Only insure your vehicle for the book price cuz it's all you'll get back)
Well I've been battering autotrader and have found this.....
The XL1000 Varadero

Wadda ya think ??
I like it. It's a very different style to the last one, what made you change? have you complained about how much your getting for the old one?
Both bikes are nice. The new one will give you good travel cases. How many cc engine in the new bike? Is the seat comfortable for a long run? Other wise it rocks. :super: The cruisers are fine. I have one, but you can't put as much of a load on them. I like the hard cases in bad weather. I am also tired of hearing that it is a Harley clone. :banghead: It out performs Harley's.
Mate :icon_cry: Dead Bike.......BAD
Out of the two I would go......don't know! I think I would end up test riding them both and then just deciding.....how about an XJR1300????:yumyum:
I'm going to put mine back on the road in a month or so, not a XJR but a GL1100, unfaired plain jane..lovely bike.
So, sorry to hear that you've not been able to be too mad lately, but it looks like the opportunity will be coming round again soon
I'm just about to finish getting the fork seals and brakes sorted on my RX1000 (GPZ) can't wait, only ridden it a few times.
Varadero is a nice looking bike, although whoever puts a top box on a bike really needs severe beatings :P Have you considered anything like the FJ1300, lovely sports tourer, very comfortable??
although whoever puts a top box on a bike really needs severe beatings :P
why?
I want something with a bit of offroad capability and I have to have a backrest of sorts coz Jules my better half has bad arms and can't hold on too good, So sissy bar or top box is a must really
why?
urmmm top box looks about as bad as gauntlets and those stupid tail things that people have been sticking to their helmets recently, ok I suppose if you're part of the village peope... :o):
I've just found some video footage of Dave being a bit MAD in Manchester

Even though I prefer the cruiser, a good dual sport would certainly be in your favor.
