I have just bought one of these on a whim, and was wondering if any of you guys have any thoughts about it.

I think those are 440 stainless (not a great knife metal) and sell here for around $10 US. Not sure where made but most likely China. Probably OK for a knock around camp knife.

DOH!, I should have dropped down and read the description.

Great looking knife Greg. looks nice and strong, I have a couple of Knives made of 440c With a bit of time and care it can take a great edge. Dont forget its not that long ago that 440c was top of the line.

Yeah 440c isnt the best but neither is 01 and everyone seems to want that!

But heat treated properly it will hold a very good edge mate!

It was a spur of the moment buy because it looked quite nice and seemed quite useful. I'm not quite the master when it comes to knives.
I guess I'll have to wait and see!

I've had a couple of 440C knives and been impressed. Backyard bushcraft had one from me - silly sharp and good edge retention.

I've just had a look - nice, it'll make a superb fish & game prep knife.

I love the look of that..
Is it single bevel scandi?*
I'd be interested in a wee review once you've got your hands on it if you wouldn't mind ;) Just sharpening, edge retention, stuff like that. I'm too skint to buy a fancy knife but wouldn't mind a change from my clipper

*EDIT: Apologies, didn't read carefully enough! Still, secondary bevels can be removed...
