I spent a lovely sunday out with Rhoda, and our respective other halfs, tracking and playing in the woods.

Here's an obligitory piccie, sorry for the odd pose! :)

Unfortunealy the weather wasn't on our side, and we got soaked.
The afternoon cleared up nicely, but with alot of debri about we didn't find a lynx, which I was banking on
However we did find a badger latrine, who had a bit of a taste for corn and not alot else!
Otherwise lots of roe deer tracks, some fox runs, poo, and this:

What do you think it is?

Great pictures Raz! Sounds like you had a great time!

That pic to me looks like a big dog ... hard to tell from the image but he could have put one paw down on another pring (direct register) ... maybe!

I think you cracked it :)
Thought it'd last longer than that!

Rhoda found a minute white hair at the bottom, so a big labradour more than likely :)

Are you sure you didn't make that print up yourself :nono:

It looks like thumb prints to me !!

Cheers

I was wondering the same thing Mark! Don't look like any track I've ever seen...

But then again, I'm just a boaty - not much leaves tracks on the river...

Haha, no I didn't!
But it's a good idea for the future

I think Adi hit the nail on the head. Rhoda found a white hair in the track. So most likely a labradour.

To me, it looks like a walking pole print ontop of a dogs.

Well done Adi, definately labrador, not much else has blonde hair, except lions :yikes: ha ha! We were excited for a moment because no claw marks but the claws most likely would not show on the stony substate very well anyway. If it wasn't for the hairs we'd probably still be there on our hands and knees with magnifying glasses!! Nice picture Raz!!

:yikes: Whats all this about fags and scats? I'm looking at my singed fingers from lighting the fire by friction!
