Pocket fire kit - antler, sinew, elder, hazel, willow and clematis. Strap hearth to thigh and go for a spin.

I like that, can you add some scale or a picure of the tool in action.

OK Patrick, I give in...
If you could just stick to teaching Mors and Ray where they are going wrong. Then they can filter out all the depressingly top-quality stuff that we don't need to see and they can be our inspiration as a stepping stone to the kind of kit that you turn out without even thinking.

Fantastic as always

I'm guessing the bearing block is held in the teeth, leaving the hands free to hold the toggles.

similar to a native american method, but strapping the board to the thigh is inspired!

did you find referance to this somwhere or is this your invention?

either way Patrick your a living bushcraft Muse

Cut down on weight further by leaving the bearing block at home and inserting the drill up your nose. Self lubricating too. ;)

"Is that a bowdrill hearth strapped to your thigh or are you just pleased to see me?"
