Are any of you members of the RGS?

Stuarts your man on this stuff, he's done a few things with them...

Admittedly two years after you asked - but my parents have just bought me
a year's membership for my birthday and I'm delighted. The magazine is
really good and of course you can buy it without becoming a member.
http://www.geographical.co.uk/ - seems to be a couple of months behind the
print version, unusually.

I'd been to a few events there in the past (organised by societies other than
the RGS - as they hire out rooms) but I'm looking forwards to lots of slide
shows of others' travels now.

I can go to all of these now :D

They seem to have a newish feature where members can log in to a dedicated
section on the website and get more info about past talks - it would be good if
they followed the Nat Hist Museum's Darwin Centre and 'webcast' the talks
simultaneously (presumably only for people who were members and logged in
though).

I might suggest this, when I get to know them a bit better. They might already
do that of course, and I just haven't worked it out yet :)

Really great talk last night on the composition of air - which was an awful lot
more interesting than my brief description of it!

Anyway, they want to give someone four thousand quid (http://www.bushcraftuk.com/community/showthread.php?t=20331) to gad off around
the world so I hope someone from here wins it.
