Hey Heyyyyy 8-)

Here's the plan. On July 19th I'm off touring for a week round the UK with my pooch "Lollop" in the Mystery Machine. Have any of the group got some cool bushcrafty suggestions of nice places to camp? I'm on my own cuz Jules doesn't get as many hols as me so she told me to bugger off. I'm thinking of heading south initially, perhaps pembroke way.

And Stu I'm sure I can squeeze an ale or two in :-D Just PM me yer details and I'll pop by. If you need anything bringing down from Manchester way too, I'll pop it in the van 8-) Any good local campsites to you two?

If you're heading down through Wales, I can definitely recommend the Cambrian mountains above Ponterwyd and Tregaron in Mid Wales, really stunning high moorland and forestry with as close to an area of wilderness as you,ll get in the UK. I can also recommend a particularly good bothy if you pm me for details.

If you're heading towards Pembroke, and you fancy some time on the coast there is some particularly good coastline which is mostly tourist free to the South of Cardigan bay and North Pembrokeshire. I may be around then, so if you,re passing drop me a line.

Hi Dave, Sorry mate. i forgot to ask where it is. i will find out for you after work tomorrow. All i know is it is quite a popular fishing area. You can basically just park and walk, putting up camp wherever you see fit!

Cheers,

Jake

If anyone else here is expecting a visit from Maddave on his road trip I'm sorry to say that he won't be able to visit- we've just come back from seeing him and he's stranded with terminal transmission trouble  :?:

He's OK and awaiting pickup.

Certainly looks like bad luck comes in three ...

Poor old Maddave. He really doesn't deserve this run of bad luck he's having! My Landy wouldn't start after he got out and he and I were both wondering whether it was his jinx. Turns out she jsut needed fuel (as always!) Felt rotten just leaving him there, but he didn't want to leave his car...

A real shame - the kids and I were really looking forward to showing Maddave our bushcraft site. (Ah well... next time, Dave!) And now it's started bucketing down with rain to boot... Now what am I going to do with the fish that I was going to cook on the fire...? Seems a bit of a shame to cook it indoors ... :?:

Is Maddave the unluckiest bloke on this site? I feel terrible for him!

Mind you - he sounds the sort of bloke who'll just replan for later in the year and do it again.

Hey hey !! I managed to get home OK and then one of my mates offered me a place in his car as he was going camping at Shell Island. So I got my break after all. So !! Things to do, get rid of 2 broken cars....get 1 new car...Plan next trip

Big thanks to Kath & Adi who came out to see me in convoy and while away some time. (I owe ya one !!)

So..... Who's got a beer?? :super:

Glad to hear you're back safely mate ... I was beginning to wonder if you were still in that Little Chef car park!
