Got this shot today of a big old bumble bee on the delphiniums. Nothing rare or exotic but it made me smile

Not a patch on your lesser spotted though Jon ;) - I also was digging out compost when I heard a raucous "caw" thought "aah crow". Looked up and saw a common buzzard being mobbed by a crow 20' above me. The things you see when you haven't got the camera ready!
Oh - Canon Eos D400 Phil :)

A great shot Red. A friend of mine used to say; 'If you want to see something exciting, leave your camera at home.' I'm sure he was right.:lmao:
Crows are very territorial and attack anything they perceive as a threat. Its the poor old herons who get it round here. They will fly at them from quite some distance off....
A friend of mine has a fantastic photo of a buzzard and a heron having a go at each other, on the ground. The heron is standing over the buzzard with its beak wide open, while the buzzard has its wings spread, to make itself look bigger.....
