As a big fan of having my cake and heating it, I am the prowl for a tipi which is not going to break the bank. Has anybody used or been near a beacon products forrest or outfitter lavvu? Or should i opt for for bottom of the range tentipi?

I have the bottom of the range tentipi in a 7 man with a floor and love it... it doesn't have a fancy remote panel for opening the top but errr... who actually "needs" that feature???

Anyway, the bison/beaver ones are also nice but the tentipi fits in the side pouch of my pack and the centre pole straps to the outside of it - my ideal solution.

Nor did I until I tried! I think the side pouch is 10 litres... in it, I have the tipi, all the pegs and the little template thing for setting it up. it's nice having it pack so small, I can tell ya!

I just thought I'd add... that's the tipi... not the floor. The floor is quite thick material and only just goes in to its little pouch when folded just right. You can leave it attached to the tipi but I don't think i'll bother... only if it's really been raining or I feel like taking slippers will I bother with it.
