Forgot all about this but I meant to put a post in about a month ago on the Canadian Museum of Civilization (http://www.ottawakiosk.com/cgi-bin/linkto.pl?url=/go/link.php?url=http://www.civilization.ca/) in Ottawa.

For anyone with any interest in social history of native North American peoples, from the pacific indians to the Inuit, etc, this is the best museum I have ever seen. From the entrance area with the massive totem poles to the standalone display on how the Inuits live in extreme conditions, I wish all museums were like this as few things come close in the UK (Weald and Downland Open Air Museum?.

If any Canadian members have been to this place, how do you rate it? And if anyone is going to that area from the UK/Europe/US, check it out - and it's free!!!

Yeah but it's still worth going. I love the Weald and Downland and, I suppose I don't really begrudge them the entry fee really. I like what they're trying to do but, you're right in terms of regularly going along. I could get expensive!

Loooks good, I also recommend the Museum of Anthropology just outside Vancouver. It sound simular but explores the the arts, crafts myths and stories of the first people of the region.
