Ya gotta laugh....... :-D

I emailed the seller letting him know they're only £95 brand new
Dave it is the one that I am thinking of it has green micarta handles.
There will not be a picture and the last time this guy put it on e-bay he wanted £400 for it.
I think that Martyn from BB set us straight, rather than being a Woodlore knife it was actually some form of Allan Woods custom  .
I must admit you have got to hand it to the guy for effort :-D .
Yep he's back, there was a link in edged tools that takes you to exactly the same link that you have here.
Well he's still trying, bless
The thing is that is he put up that it was just an Alan Wood custom he might get someone interested, there's a 12 month+ waiting list for Alans knives....

but when martyn is showing us his new Alan Wood custom with 2 more in stock in micarta for £145, £300 is very steep. Also 0 feedback and no photo I would not send £300 and expect to get anything back in the post. I emailed for a photo but have had no reply. I wouldn't trust him with yours!
There are so many frauds on ebay at the moment it is untrue. People stealing accounts to make it look respectable. 0 feedback who are registered in the UK but want to send goods from aborard. Photos stolen from international sales so people don't notice.
Sorry rant over, I love ebay but you just can't bid with confidence on so many things now.

True my brother in law just lost over £500 on a laptop that never arrived

Cash on collection is the only way for expensive stuff now. You watch how people squirm when you say you live near London and will bring the money when you collect it as that is where they are registered.
'Oh oh but i'm in err France at the moment. Just send the money escrow and I will pay postage to you'
I've had that same reply on 3 occasions now

I bought a DVD for a mate and got ripped off with a copy, told ebay but they still let him sell stuff, I emailed bidders for his items, then they went for £1 instead of £13

The £95 model is by W/S and not a custom maker. However £400 was really overpriced... £300 is still dear... :-?
Also, there is a slight trade description thing here. Alan *only* makes maple handled woodlore knives - to the best of my knowledge, he's never made a green micarta woodlore knife. I dont think he can make exactly the same knife as the woodlore for anyone other than woodlore, you have to order them through woodlore. He will make you a bushcraft knife with your choice of handle material, but it wont be the same design as the ray mears knife. So if this guy does indeed have a genuine, badged ray mears knife made by alan wood, in green micarta - it could be a very early model, probably a one-off or one of a very few, which could explain the high price.
I doubt it though.
Got an email from the guy.... He says it is a ray mears design woodlore knife, by alan wood in green micarta.
Just thought I'd pass it on.....

Either he has no clue what he is talking about, or he is a scammer or that is a very rare knife!
No history, no pics...
Not worth the risk IMHO... :-?

I have e-mailed Alan to ask him his opinion on this matter. This will be resolved really soon!
This Knife is back up at a starting price of........£250, quite a drop from the £400 he was asking to start with. I just wonder how much more he is prepared to drop the price, I may be doing the guy a diservice but it just makes me even more suspisous. He still has'nt managed to borrow a camera, dropped the price from £400 and now discribes it as a 'Ray Mears Survival Knife'
Any news from Mr.Woods ?.

Alan has made one such knife and it is not a Ray Mears model at all... In fact it has nothing to do with Ray Mears! It is a stainless steel blade which Ray also dislikes... RW-34 (but then what does he know? )
Alan will make one for £170 brand new 6 month wait... Or quicker if you have contacts...

Or £250...
ummmm interesting..... in the email I got from the seller he said it was a standard 01tool steel ray mears woodlore knife.... just with green micarta scales..... do you think I should tell him thats not what he's got? I wonder if the seller put the scales on himself doing an aka martyn WS cord bound tactical.... he he he ...

Could be he's made a mess on the custom work hence no pic's.
Could be he's made a mess on the custom work hence no pic's.
Or ripped the scales off and wrapped it in paracord!!!!
Whatever he's done, if Alan says he never made one, he never made one.

To quote Alan
"Therefore it is not a woodlore knife as his concept dictates O1 tool steel with maple handle or antler for the instructors models."
He is of course refering to Ray Mears concept.
I am sure he would not mind me quoting this as it was in response to a very specific question.

I sent the guy an email:
Is this the same shape as the Wilkinson Sword model and the Alan Wood model sold by Ray Mears?
What is the blade steel?
Any photographs you could post to me?
And he replied:
Yes, same shape. steel is 01. I'll see what I can do about the photo if this other guy doesn't have it or it 'times out' on e-bay. You'll need to send me an address.
We shall see ............

I see the guy has a -1 feedback rating for describing an item he did not have. And now he is selling a knife we cannot confirm was ever made, without pictures.
Oh must go now I can smell somthing fishy.

Here it is.
I think that some of the guys are going to tear this pic to pieces, I've not got a WS Woodlore but those that have will likely say that it's not one, the handle slabs look wrong and the sheath.....Ummm
