I have the Basic wrap - around DD hammock, It is a decent bit of kit that is made of a good strong material but there are three things that I found that I didn't like.

1) Because off the wrap - around effect of the hammock it did get very warm inside.
2) I am 6'2" and I found the hammock to be a bit small.
3) There is no 'D' or 'O' ring in the support ropes so when it rains the hammock gets wet.

I hope this helps.:)

It weighs 1.7 kilos...dry

Put it this way I have one and am looking for a alternative, but only because of the weight.

I dont think its ripstop, (theres no mesh pattern) and it has a rubberised feel to the underside.

I'm looking here Kathmandu (http://home.freeuk.net/kathmandu/catalogue.html) for a replacement.

Sorry DD. Love the hammocks...hate the tarps :( I gave mine away. Too heavy and no centre loop on the ridge line. Still it has to be said they are cheap.
