I'm looking for a general kit bag for chucking in the back of the van as luggage.

It doesn't have to be huge but I do like my kit to last.

A few pockets or compartments can be useful but I'm open minded.

Any suggestions?

I've just bought a Snugpac Kit Monster from Andrew at Outdoorcode and I'm very impressed with it.

That is one of the option I've been looking at but I'm not sure if it's bigger than I need.

or maybe some shooting accesory bags

I got one called a Karrimor Global in Millits last week for £4.99 reduced from 25.99. Its a pretty straight forward black nylon holdall. Not huge I would guess 40-50 litres. It was pretty much perfect for what I was after. Might be worth a look!

North Face Duffle. Comes in a few sizes, can be worn like a rucsac. V tuff but pricey (like most TNF stuff).

You could also try the Mountain Equipment 100 litre version of the NF duffle. Cotswold Outdoor had them on sale for about 40 quid and mine's lasted pretty well so far.

This is the one I mean:

If you look around, you may be able to get one cheaper.

Alternatively, get an army surplus duffle bag!!!

The issue holdalls are pretty bomb proof, they do come in colours other than OG but not very often!

Agree with illumeo. I have had the TNF Duffle for more than Ten years now and its still going strong.
I work offshore in the oil industry traveling over the world and its never let me down and believe me its seen the worst baggage handlers in the world.

Have a quick look at this thread for one that's reasonably priced.

http://www.bushcraftuk.com/community/showthread.php?t=19637

Capacity: 65l Colours: Olive, Black. Wide zip opening, two zipped side pockets, compression straps and concealed shoulder straps for carrying on the back. Fabric: 900D PU coated nylon.

http://www.aakamilitary.com/highlander_loader_holdall.cfm

Should be able to pick one up for less than £20.00 in the shops or inc P&P on the Internet.

I've acquired me a big operational deployment bag. They are beasts - but are quite comfy to carry and can be carried as a holdall, shoulder bag (not advisable!) or rucksack. Pretty robust too.

The only issue I have with mine that the chap I acquired it from had left his shreddies & socks in the end pocket... eww!

I have the 60LTR one of these and it's as good as the north face one for quarter of the price :D
