View Full Version : Nessmuk template needed
Over at BritishBlades I found someone who is willing to make me a stick tang Nessmuk blade, but needs some drawings.
Problem is, I never ever handled a Nessmuk and can only speculate about its dimensions
In the thread "Show your Nessmuk", I really liked the knives shown.
Would anyone be so kind as to be willing to send me a drawing of his blade, please?
And maybe give me some hints about what I should look for when making my drawing?
Is this article (http://outdoors-magazine.com/s_article.php?id_article=179) any help?
Thank you, I already know this article.
in the thread "Show your Nessmuk" where some really nice blades, but I can only guess the dimensions, hence this thread.
Ok - dimensions I can do
Mine is:
215mm long, full tang with 100mm long blade.
It is 40mm wide at the widest point going back to 30mm at the handle. The widest point is 60mm from the handle.
The point is about 2/3 of the way up (i.e. away from the cutting edge) and the sutting edge is 110mm. It is thicker than a traditional Nessmuk and is 4-5mm thick.
The whole blade slopes in from the spine with what looks like a flat ground cutting edge over the last 3ish mm :)
I remember seeing a slightly more detailed sketch with a couple of other tools in the Outdoors Magazine forums but I can't remember where!
I can send you a full size outline based on the nessmuk drawing in his book. PM me you email address and ill send it as an attachment.
Cheers
Nick

I haven't got around to putting mine together yet so it's still just a blade blank.
It's no trouble to draw round it and stick it in the post if it helps.
Just PM me your details and i will get it away asap.
It's this one
