Trying to organise a coastal foods weekend and am after leaves to wrap fish in and cook in embers, any ideas of what's available in the south west?

...im from the midlands mate...not sure what you got down there and think you would struggle this time of year coz most suitable are going to be perrenial species...lg sorrel leaves, horseradish even butterbur all having lg thick fleshy leaves...seem to remember you have alot of brassicas down that way particularly on the coast ;sea kale,cabbage etc that you might find in sheltered spots now, wild fennel works too if you can find any and adds flavour...how about seaweed (remember im from the midlands)???....take only what you need and of course nothing toxic!!! good luck

Hi Backwater,if your struggling to find big leaves at this time of year why don,t you use newspaper instead, just soak the paper then wrap the fish in it and pop it into the embers of a fire. I saw this done by Hugh Fern Whippingtool, maybe check out here http://www.rivercottage.net/
