...till all your kit's sorted out.

Got back home from this weekend's outing and had to go straight into "Dad" mode, quick shower to get the woodsmoke smell out of my hair, sort out some family problems and do the Dad's taxi bit. Wednesday I grabbed my daysack to go for a walk and it stunk..... Something stinking, slimy and wormy was sticking to my Laplander and my windshirt. Aha, that Morel I picked on Sunday morning and forgot about, well it was in an advanced state of decomposition, 'twas the kind of smell that would have Doc reaching for his prescription pad for some trimethoprim :yikes:

I can't be the only person who's made this kind of mistake.. can I?

Sorry Andy (justin) but I still sort out my kit and any course kit that night.

The Army say ' the excercise isnt over til the kits sorted out' and thats what I do.

I got home just before 2200 and went straight into clean up mode, parachute etc unpacked and cleaned - Sleeping bag aired, Basha hang out to dry - last thing to go was the clothes I was wearing.

But should I have needed to - I could have used it all next day with no worries! :-D

Rhoda, you have my deepest sympathies!!!

I once was on a PGL course and went for a swim in the Wye, wearing corduroy. The weather was so damp the dang things wouldn't dry, so I stuffed them in a plastic bag in a cupboard for the rest of the week. :yikes: That was a serious biohazard, but I can't imagine that it could hold a candle to that mink scat :rolmao:

Rhoda, you have my deepest sympathies also. We stowed/aired/cleaned our kit as soon as we got back.... I've learnt from my past mistakes .... I hope you all do too ;-)

Still look on the bright side - smelling of Otter you'd likely attract them too!

Its not something I've done before, I'm normally really good at sorting out my kit when I get home, for some reason just completely forgot it was there  Luckily the mink scat was well contained, would have been much worse if it wasn't!!!

Bit different but I was driving home one evening and bought a donner kebab. Put it in the glove compartment till I got home and found it 2 weeks later. I haven't eaten donner kebab since :yikes:
