Hi all, my first post here. I was wondering if you guys could advise me on courses in the UK? I've had a look in France and there seems to be an official trekking association that delivers training and "train the trainer" kind of courses, mostly in navigation, meteo, first aid, organising treks etc ... So not survival as such, but I guess stuff you should know in order to avoid getting in trouble in the first place. As for most sporting associations, these guys come under the authority of the Ministry of Sports which offers qualifications within a national curriculum.
Do you know if there are similar associations / clubs in the UK?
Thanks. Take care, Loic

Hi Loic

You might want to look at either Walking Group Leader or the (Summer) Mountain Leader Award.

Have a look at the Mountain Leader Training Board website at
