Would £75 be enough to buy a knife kit from SWC knives. The kit will be about £65. Will shipping to Belgium be more than £10.

What is your opinion on this kit? Does it come with a sheath?

Alan Wood bushcrafter blade with Rapidboy (Lawrence Dugan) woodwork and leatherwork.

An Alan Wood handmade bushcrafter blade. As it was supplied as a blank, it’s not stamped by Alan. The blade is O1 tool steel set at a hardness of Rockwell C59. It has a tapered tang for balance, shallow hollow grind for the bevel which is freehand ground and polished to the edge. The blade flats are hand rubbed satin. The wood and leather work by Lawrence is of a superb standard. Beautifully grained Curly Birch timber with black liners. The pins and lanyard tube are brass. A custom grade brown leather sheath with the Scandinavian swivel as well as the normal belt loop.

Hi Michiel,

I shipped a knife to France last week and it was exactly £7.49 with normal Airmail, hopefully your parcel will be around the same.

Now I don't think the kit comes with a sheath, looking at a couple quotes from people who got one. I can't pass any comments on the thing you're buying but I do have a bushcrafter knife made by the man himself (the spalted beech one on his website, in fact) and let me tell you - it's a super knife. The blade grind is very nice indeed, I actually think it's one of the best around :)

Mark

I also have a spalted beech knife like this from him very well made knife and good service

A knifemaker from Holland (Toni Oostendorp) is making me a knife blank. It's going to be like the woodlore. I'll have to pay £27 for the blank so I think it's a great deal.

I have a SWC knife and can openly recommend it. Good steel and has given me the confidence to use a knife in the field.
