I've finally started finishing things in time to wrap them for christmas

Here's a couple i've just completed

The first one is one of the fifty no.2 blades made by Stuart Mitchell.

Handled in Zebrano with black fibre liners and brass pins and lanyard. Sheath was made by our very own leather wizard Leon1 and complements the knife perfectly I think.

The other knife is one of a few blades StuartM made that he called the 100% blade (not really sure why as all his blades seem 100% to me)

I've kind of gone blank on the wood - I think I used Thuya burl for the handle and then ran out so had to use red mallee burl for the firesteel. Again with brass pins and black fibre liner and Leon1 made the sheath again. The colour of the sheath ripples subtly and is beautiful to look at in daylight.

Now i've just got to get on with all the other stuff I need to finish before crimbo

Thanks for looking :)

I wish Santa (God help dyslexics at this time of year!) was as kind to me! Hints about a bench grinder may have been heard tho!

Nice work Marts.

I like the first one best. My address is on my website if you want to pop it in the post. On second thoughts I will pick it up and save you postage. ;)

Boasting? I seem to remember you telling me i'm too bl**dy self-critical!

Thanks for all the comments guys. And no problem Wayne. Unfortunately Royal Mail have advised me in advance that they lost it in the post ;)
I am starting to want to keep hold of them though. Best wrap them and send them quick.

Perfect combination of form and function--they look great (the handle scales are beautiful) and perfect for the bush. Someone will be having a lucky Christmas. Todd

Absolutely stunning work. As mentioned above - a perfect blend of function and beauty, both the knives and the sheaths.

Those are actually pretty nice. I especially like the first one. I'm curious as to what the blade metal is.
