It's meranti wood, i had a piece lying here.

that's really neat. What blade did you use? It look like a Frost to me, would make a nice carving knife.

dunno how far spread the superstition is but it is always wise to ask for a small coin when you give away a knife.
it is said otherwise the friendship wil be cut.
if you dont do it for superstition its always nice to add a bit of lore to the knife ;)
