anyone know of a good (ie cheap) shop for strops and paste for a cut throat razor?

Sure - get an old leather belt from a charity shop (or the back of a cupboard) for a strop and use toothpaste as the abrasive. Works a treat (thanks for the tip, Graham_S!) :)

And, Ed, if you dont have yer own gnashers :rolleyes: , you could use any of the paint-cutting pastes.

I've got the small pink which gives a very nice cut.
For the strop I'd go with the leather belt, or you can try axminster power tool centre
but it's not cheap 23pounds.

come to think of it I've got a 20k grit stick from Starky. Still fancy a leather & canvas 2 sided strop to go in the bathroom.
you could try Wittex in germany, they usally sell a lot of stuff on Evil-bay, I bought 2 straight razors of them last year, one of them got lost in the post, but they were prompt with sending a replacement, and they also gave me a strop for having to wait for the 2nd one.
