Any of you ride motorbikes? I know Maddave does. I've got a Plain Jane GL1100 (unfaired Goldwing) lovely bike.

Anyone else?

Had a few bikes so far. At the moment I've got a TTR250 which I'm probably going to sell this year and get something more suitable for the road. Miss my old Bandit and my Dads ZZR1100 even more - that was one hell of a bike to ride......

vespa's are not too bad, it's the other little scooters these days that I find very amusing.

i remeber my dads old GPZ 500s always funny when you get some idiot in a boy racer putting his foot down. when my mum was one she once asked why the cra was making such a noise when told she then asked so why did we leave it behind so quickly.

how many miles do you get from your tyres. the record for my dad 23,000 on front and 17,000 on a back.

oh yeh hes selling the belly pan for the GPZ if anyone wants it

Had a few in the past, and I'm planning to buy myself a bike licence so I can get another one, but persuading the wife will be a bit difficult.

I've been dreaming about a Vincent and a Squariel for longer than I can remember, but I suppose an M21 or a Constellation would do for a starter.

I had a Suzuki GP100 many years ago.

On another note i had really good night out a week or so back, i was at a fund raising night in aid of Steve "Hizzy" Hislop in my home town, they managed to raise about twenty grand. The money will go towards building two memorials, one here in Hawick the other on the Isle of Man.

Steve was a friend of my family, as my old man used to sponsor him when he was a privateer in the early days when racing at the I.O.M

I,ve had some good times the TT races.Anybody else been over there?

Aprilia SL1000V Falco for me until I got wiped out 18 months ago. My #1 reason for buying it was the sound of that big V twin motor. Ahhh!

I've promised myself another V twin when I can afford it, but sadly that won't be anytime soon. :-(

did your insurance not cover it ? or were you being naughty? a friend of mine got wiped out on his r1 too ,but it was permanently! he always said the best therapy after a crash was to get on again as soon as you could.hes right too.

Freaky one - doing a genuine 70 on an unlit motorway at night I saw an unmarked police patrol car by the side of the road and wondered what was going on. Then BANG followed by waking up sliding down the road.

The patrol car had pulled an Audi TT for speeding and when the driver went to watch the video replay, they left the handbrake off. No one noticed the car roll off the hard shoulder, across 3 lanes and stop in the fast lane leaning on the central armco. It's lights were off so I never even saw it before I rode into it.

The Falco was trashed. My insurance paid (not generously), but it took me a year to sue the driver for medical, the riding gear that the bike policy didn't cover, etc. Meanwhile I needed the cash for college fees and stuff.

And the Audi ? No one saw me hit it, but they did notice when it was totalled by a van sixty seconds later :biggthump
