Whilst on the first aid course at the weekend, this little fella decided he wanted a closer look at the dummy:

Pale tussock Calliteara pudibunda is the closest match I can find (Collins guide to the insects of Britain & western Europe).

It was a weekend for beautiful caterpillers.

Thanks for posting, I'd tried to explain what this little fella looked like as my shots were of a blur.

He certainly was a pleasent addition to the course!

I showed the picture to a moth expert and he confirmed, it is a pale tussock.
