Hi all,

I am after the idea kind of place that everyone is after, some woods, fires allowed if poss if not then not too many people about. I have a spot i am always at and its starting to not provide any challenges besides the odd chav bashing required at times :o . I know that this is all teetering towards illegal in cases so i will have to say this is all in theory of course ;). So the requirements.

1./ Nice bit o woods preferably not like delamere (pine/high resin) where a match would light you a really big fire in about ooo 3 seconds and would end up about 20 miles square in 4 seconds.
2./ Out the way as much as is possible down here.
3./ The owners name so we can ask permission for fires etc and grease the wheels with a nice scotch or free computer work ;) lol

I know i am asking a lot guys n gals "the perfect wild camp" but there must be some little gems out there that someone is willing to share :) I also dissolve “www.bushcraftuk.com” of any responsibility for the possible information received here. What a sad world we live in sometimes :joke:

Thanks again all !

Hi Dwardo ;)
An interesting place I had a quick look at a couple of weeks ago was the patch of land between the Weaver and the Weaver navigation? If you go through Frodsham heading to Runcorn and turn left just before the swing bridge it takes you under the railway and motorway flyover toward the backend of the ICI plant. Doesn't sound very bushcrafty I know!!!
I stopped off there for a ten minute wander and was surprised at how undisturbed the area is, really over grown lots of small ponds and marshy ground with area to explore. It is a "brownfield" type site and there is quite a bit of tarmac and concrete underneath but there seemed to be a lot of diverse plantlife, grasses, blackberries, reeds etc. I am going to have a proper recce when I get a chance but it looked like it had potential, I am going to practise some plant ID so watch this space for photos and questions!
Dont know, yet, if it would be suitable for a fire, would be safe enough as there are lots of concrete platforms around, but it may attract attention from the ICI security, same goes for hammocking. There is a boat club somewhere in the midst of it and you may get permission from someone there to use their gorunds for hammock and possibly fire and use the rest for wandering and foraging.
I am not sure who owns the land I think it is canal company or water board( or whatever they are called now) land but I do know, from a few years ago, that ICI security patrol the road. Long story which I will tell you around the fire sometime
