View Full Version : Ridge Tent
Abny idea where I can purchase an old Ridge style tent? I see Millets do a couple, but they have kiddies colours/pictures on them, and what I'm after is the older style canvas type with a groundsheet.
Thanks in advance,
Stu

If I could justify the expense, I would love a Force 10 canvas. While camping on Skye in awful weather (blowing a gale and chucking it down) people everywhere were struggling with their tents - feeding poles through flapping sleeves, and once they eventually get the tent up they'd be bending and coming apart all over the place. Another couple drove up, got out their F10, and within a few easy minutes their tent was up and completely rock solid. In that respect at least the 30-year old design whooped most of the modern tents on the campsite.
SWMBO has one that never gets use - can not stand up in it to get dress so no good! If I remember the ground sheet need a patch.
I had a Force Ten cotton for years, rock solid in any weather :)

Has anyone here got one of these French Army tents? Are they as heavy as they look?
