I just ordered a Gamo 1250 Hunter, I'll post a bit more about it once I recieve it, should be a good investment, possum wool is at $75 kilo right now and its winter so were talking about 12 of those noxious little pests to make the kilo.

Will be good to get out and about whilst helping NZ's enviromental state.

Will you be able to shoot them in an area where they aren't poisoned as they are supposed to be good eating.
A handy NZ survival tip, if you can smell rotting possum you are close to a road :D

My thoughts exactly, BordeReiver! I was trying to think of what a possum looks like and I can't. I've told myself that it's probably somewhat like an oversized guinea pig, but my imagination keeps adding horns and pointy teeth.
