John,
Can you tell us a bit about the habitat where you found this?

Any flowers on it or look like they could be appearing? that usually make identification easier.

To my untrained eye it looks like wild rocket but i would be very surprised (and impressed with myself :) ) if it was!!!

ArkAngel,
Funny you should say rocket. I was thinking the last time I saw something like this was in a bag at Tesco's. Hence the reason I asked about the habitat. Certainly don't see this in my part of the world

mmmh i hope it is,
its growing in amongst nettles thistles and as you can see cleavers, on a field. feild has not been used for atleast 60-80 years for farming and so the soil is pretty good, quite acidic with bog myrtle and sorrel growing in a wetter area. reliatvely dry area not got its feet in water but nor is it on raised ground.

im sure thers a lot of useless information in there but i slept in this area last night so the memories are fresh :)

Thanks
John

*edit, no flowers if i remember correctly, this photo was taken about 6 weeks ago btw

HHmmmm....

If you're passing that was again try a bit! :)

Nice and peppery = wild rocket, dead = something else :D

It sounds a definate possibility with sorrel and the likes in the area.
