I have a lovely piece of oak burl, courtesy of bushwacker bob. I have a lovely lapplander 115 blade, thanks to the buying knowhow of G4GHB. I want to put the two together.

So, the question is, will a thin coat of araldite between the blade and handle - then riveted - be enought to protect the tang from the oak acid, or will I need to put in some vulcanised rubber too? I was thinking of using cycle inner tube as I have loads.

Now - over to the experts. All help greatly appreciated.

You want to use Vulcanised Fibre, not Vulcanised Rubber!

I hadn't thought of this. I am planning to put cherry scales on a knife, will I need to use spacers too?
