Was just sorting out my photo album when I came across this photo taken last year in the northern interior of Sarawak and thought it might interest those who hang around in this part of the site.

The photo was taken by Pam Lostracco and I omitted to take one of the pig on the hunters back :banghead:

The hunter gets dropped off by a friend either from a pick up but often a motorcycle and he waits till the friend returns. The fun begins when both have bagged a pig and all share a bike!

The harness is made from bark from what is called "pokok tali" (string tree) which can be any number of species.

Probably not more than 50 kg.

Hunter would have been ranging in a few sq. kilometres around the ravine behind him and would have been dropped off in the morning. We took the photo late afternoon maybe 4 pm.

No telling how far he walked probably not more than 2-4 k with the poroker
