Recently picked up a Karrimor Trail 45 Coolmesh rucksack at a car boot sale for a massive £3.70  Great rucksack, fits all my gear, but I have 1 question - inside the rucksack, there is a small sealed pouch (inside top left) with something about 1x3cm or less inside. There is a "Cut here" in red cotton on it!? Any idea what this would be for? I'd rather leave it alone, but it does make me curious!

What a bargain! I haven't got one, but don't they usually contain spare buttons/buckles? (I've seen this on coats, but not a rucsack)

Could it possibly be for a hydration tube to poke through.

My sabre 45 had some sort of security tag (white plastic with an embedded wire and a bar-code) sewn into its storm collar. It looked like it was done at manufacture. I guess it was used to check stocks/shipments electronically or something like that.

Ahaaa, that would sound quite likely, thanks!
