Around May or September are the best times of year for Scotland due to midges. Take plenty of bug repellent (Avon 'Skin so Soft' products are also supposed to be good ). A head net would be advisable too.

I'm just back from Kinlochleven and it's busy right now. The weather up there was bad heavy rain showers windy then the sun would come out for 5 or 10 minutes and then rain showers again, oh and snow on the hill tops.
